Exploring Rome’s Underground

Walking the streets of Rome everyday reminds me of my love for the Eternal City. The millennia of history unfolds in a beautiful landscape of layers, but my husband Darius Arya always reminds me that it’s what’s under the streets that truly matters.

caverns and caverns of tuff

Meet the two cutest men under the city. Archaeologist Darius Arya (aka my husband) and speleologist Adriano Morabito of Roma Sotterranea the new Indiana Jones (plural). These men like nothing better than getting down and dirty, and they don’t just love antiquity, they live it

Together and separately, Darius and Adriano have explored the very shadows of history that are right beneath our feet.  In this episode, Darius and Adriano share what they love best about going under Rome and give us a glimpse into their favorite places in the Eternal City.

miles and miles to explore
