Cicchetti in Venice

Apple Podcasts | Stitcher | Spotify

Cicchetti {n, pl. pronounced “chee- ket-tee”} very small bites usually served on a crostino (small piece of bread) and accompanied by a glass of wine.

Venetians know when and how to take a break. Case in point, cicchetti, unique and small savory snacks served on a crostino and preferably accompanied by a glass of wine.  Cicchetti are a beloved Venetian tradition, and can be found bacari, taverns or wine bars with traditionally counter service only. Happily, there is no “cicchetti hour” nor “cicchetti etiquette”. Join me with Monica Cesarato , an expert Venice tour guide as we talk favorite bacari and recipes.

Patrons line up all day for cicchetti.
