A Tale of Chocolate and Torino

Apple Podcasts | Stitcher | Spotify | iHeartRadio

“We bond with chocolate.”

Sandra Solerno

Torino, Magic City, the town that Agnelli built. For me, Torino is magic because it is a city built on chocolate. Legend tells that in 1560, Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Savoy served hot chocolate to the Torinese citizens to the return of the duchy, pretty much solidifying ciocolato caldo, chocolate-making and chocolatiers in Italy. And today, cremino, gianduiotti, cioccolato caldo and bicerin nourishes the town.

Bicerin: aka “chocolate coffee”, a morning of espresso, milk and drinking chocolate served in a small glass

In this episode, Torino-native and food journalist Sandra Salerno of Un Tocco di Zenzero joins me for a chocolate talk. Get ready to learn all about why and where to chocolate in Torino.
