Massimo Bottura And His Modena Not BBQ

MASSIMO BOTTURA

iTunes | Stitcher | Spotify | iHeartRadio

I’ve always thought that when you’re traveling around Emilia Romagna, somewhere outside of Bologna and on the way to Modena there should be a sign that reads the fabulous and real fantasyland and hometown of super star chef Massimo Bottura. He and his wife Lara Gilmore are magic makers, pioneering community leaders, prolific authors, happy hotelier and restaurant rainmakers.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to talk with Massimo in his restaurant, his garden and at events. The super chef has a creative mind like no other, and it’s always face-paced and pushing the boundaries of philosophy, stream of consciousness and soliloquy. In our latest encounter at Casa Maria Luigia, his luxury bed and breakfast (and my favorite home away from home), Massimo reframes the question “To be or not to be” with “Being without being” as he shares the inspiration for his newest restaurant Al Gatto Verde at Casa Maria Luigi. Join me as I discover how a painting inspired the chef’s out-of-the-box concept and so much more.
