Mythological hotels with flair- that’s probably the best way to describe the triple-threat of Italian beach hotels Il Pellicano, Mezzatorre and La Posta Vecchia. From the very beginning when Roberto Scìo acquired the Hotel Il Pellicano in 1975, it was already on the radar as the most off the radar, exclusive getaway in Italy’s Tuscan coast. In the early 1980s, he added the Getty Villa to start a collection of the most coveted Italian beach hideways and reinvented it as La Posta Vecchia. Now the creative director is in the hands of daughter Marie-Louise – aesthete and storied tastemaker. In 2019, ML added the Ischia island escape Mezzatorre and to all of the hotels, she brings clever design and distinct personality.
