“Six universal messages to bring the world together – wisdom, hope, help, faith, friendship and love.” WIth six sets of 15 meter high lower arms and hands coming together in six different gestures, artist Lorenzo Quinn is trying to bring the world together. Building Bridges is Italy’s latest monument, shouting a call for unity. I chatted with Quinn in Venice’s Arsenale, and under clasped hands to talk about drawing attention to Venice and the public issues plague the islands.
By the way, this isn’t the first time Quinn held up hands in Venice to make a monumental statement. A few years back, Quinn’s hands held up a palace to raise attention to climate change.
