Wine is a work of art, and the ones designing it are nothing short of Da Vincis. Experimentation, trial and error, and methodology are integral to crafting of a truly memorable vintage and no one knows better than the Biondi Santi, winemaking family whose forefather Franco invented Brunello di Montalcino. In this episode, I travel the rolling hills of Tuscany but not to Montalcino but the beautiful Maremma to Castello di Montepò where I meet Jacopo and Tancredi Biondi Santi, son and grandson of Brunello pater Franco. While Franco’s innovations put Brunello on the map, Jacopo and son Tancredi have practically defied tradition with the Sangiovese Grosso BBS11 clone to create a whole new world of wine for now and the future. Grab a glass and join me in the castle.

“Wine represents something that it’s cultural, and alive. It represents transformation, in constant development, and change,” ~
