Lara Gilmore hosts Casa Maria Luigia
When Lara Gilmore told me she and her husband Massimo Bottura were opening a B&B, I knew it was going to be amazing. I knew it would be interesting because Massimo is the world’s chef extraordinaire, but I was even more convinced it was going be out of this world because this dynamic duo has an incredible chemistry, preternatural instincts for art and design, and a sixth sense for space.
In 2019, I visited Casa Maria Luigia three times- once before it opened while Lara was putting it all together, and then again in June and October for personal visits. Each time I felt like I was home. Could it be just Lara’s natural vibe? Was it the amazing contemporary art? The comfy beds?
